I remember being fairly exhausted and a little culture shocked toward the end of this day with Growing Bean. So, it was an unexpected and reviving pleasure to find ourselves stopping in at her regular post performance italian cafe on the outskirts of Kyoto. (apparently the owner had visited Italy and returned home with a plan…) Making myself comfortable on the authentic leatherette wall seat I drank the scene in. The low babble of the television and the gentle rustle of the newspaper blended with the reassuring kla-klunk of my faithful 6×7.
